Large sterling and copper martini stir/spoon by Los Castillo, Mexico, c.1948. Hand wrought and made of heavy gauge silver, it weighs 2 1/2 troy ounces and measures 15 INCHES LONG. Dramatic large hand made sterling Mayan face/headdress pin by LOS CASTILLO, Mexico, 1942. Measures 3 1/4" by 2 1/4" and signed "LOS CASTILLO TAXCO STERLING MADE IN MEXICO 530". This pin has a barette-type of closure. However, the points are very sharp so is not a barette but rather an alternate type of pin closure. Very rare brass and enamel pin signed "MACCHIARINI", c.1940's. Peter Macchiarini(deceased) was a very famous San Francisco modernist jewelry designer and his works are extremely desirable. The provenance of this piece has been identified by his son, Dan Macchiarini. He states that it was a private commission by someone wanting a clown face. This turned out to be a joint venture between Peter and his then student, Virginia De Haas, whom he later married...

This hand made piece is one of a series by Madeline Turner and can be made into a pin by adding a metal frame. The enamel colors are white, turquoise, dark blue, and green.
