Sterling and onyx Mayan face pin by Fred Davis, Mexico, c.1947. Davis managed Sanborn's for 20 years during this period. See pg. 23 of The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Since this is a classic Fred Davis design, this is his work. It is signed "22(Sanborn's bellmark number) MEXICO STERLING" and is in excellent condition. It measures 1 9/16" wide by 1 1/8" high.
