A delicate vase with peonies, by Koransha. An exceptional quality small porcelain vase decorated with peonies in gold against an iron red ground, with a subtle lavender and turqoise enamel lappet border to the footrim, by one of the premiere Arita manufacturers of the Meiji Period, Koransha. In terms of gilding and enamelling, this vase is one of the highest quality pieces we have seen by Koransha. Mark: hand painted orchid mark for Koransha in underglaze blue to the base. Origin: Arita, Japan. Period: Meiji Period, circa late 1890s. Century. Size: 12cm high, 7cm diameter. Condition: fine
