Kiyomizu Rokubei IV (1848-1920), an iron brown decorated serving platter. A powerfully painted rectangular stoneware serving platter, decorated with a bird near a rock and foliage, with the moon and stars shining above. The platter is roughly potted, with multiple glaze sticks and a warped rim, giving a deep wabi sabi feel. Mark: incised signature of Rokubei IV to the base within the round footrim. Origin: Kyoto, Japan. Period: Meiji Period, 19th Century. Size: 28.5cm wide, 20.5cm deep, 5cm high. Condition: multiple chips, glaze sticks, warping
