Kiyomizu Rokubei IV (1848-1920), a guinomi. A small but powerful guinomi (sake cup) decorated with a thick pink and cream crackle glaze reminiscent of Korean style hakeme brushed slip, and what appears to be a whip, in iron brown to the side, and incorporated as a decorative feature, Rokubei IV’s large seal mark to the reverse of the cup. Original tomobako. Mark: Hexagonal impressed mark “sei” to the side. Origin: Kyoto, Japan. Period: Meiji Period, circa late 19th to early 20th Century. Size: 6.7cm diameter, 3.1cm high. Condition: fine.
