A Bizen stoneware okimono of a recumbent bull, finely modelled with a powerful glare, with a rich deep brown colour, highlighted with goma spots (sesame colour spots) on the back, back foot and tail, by Kimura Toho of the Kimura lineage, one of the six oldest lineages of Bizen potters. Original tomobako. Mark: Impressed square seal of Kimura Toho to the rear of the beast. Origin: Bizen, Japan. Period: Second half 20th century. Size: 26.5cm wide, 8cm high. Condition: fine
