A jug form tokkuri (sake ewer) in porcelain, decorated with iron red and green enamels in “akae” (late Ming Swatow) style, with birds and flowers, by Wake Kitei IV. The Wake Kitei lineage were one of the most famous in Kyoto for making sencha wares for the literati. Mark: impressed circular seal mark for Wakei Kitei IV to the base. Origin: Kyoto, Japan. Period: Meiji Period, circa late 19th century. Size: 12.8cm high, 6.5cm diameter. Condition: fine.
