An unusual example of WMF (Wurttembergisch Metalwaren Fabrik) Secession design. The superbly executed form consists of a sauciere fashioned as one unit with its attached oval tray beneath. Raised Secession elements reminiscent of Josef Hoffmann Gitterwerk embellish the form. Gilded within. The well known Germany workshop's oxidation marks upon the handle. Made circa 1910. Figural whisky bottle-form cigar striker lighter. Wand attached to the fluid-filled bottle's cap removes for striking upon the metal plate that is attached to the enamelled iron base. Toasting goblet-form holders are for matches. England, circa 1930's. 4 3/8" H., 3 3/4" L. at base.
Scarce example of a sterling silver cocktail spoon made for Georg Jensen U.S.A. in the 1940's. Long, gently curving Modernist design spoon with notch elements upon the handle. Marked "Handwrought" along with workshop marks. These items were sold in Jensen's 5th Ave. store under the direction of Frederick Lunning during the war years when Denmark was unable to export silver. 12 1/4" L.
