Impeccable design! The lobed creamer and sugar are distinctly influenced by Josef Hoffmann. They have hand-hammered detail and rest upon their original oval tray with its complementing, hammered, rising border. All pieces have rolled rims, a sign of quality. Each is signed by the Wilkens & Sohne silver workshop of Bremen-Hemelingen, Germany. Each consecutively numbered 7173, 7174 and 7175, along with 830 Fine Silver marks; circa 1929. Hagenauer patinated brass horse-and-rider bookends in the stylized form for which this Austrian workshop is so well-known. The animated subject, along with a flower, is set upon a scallop-front base. Bronze boy grasping an apple. Sweetly sculpted with a scarf about his neck and wearing a knit cap. Olive-brown patina with a contrasting gold patina upon the face and hand. Signed A. Titze upon the reverse. The artist was active in Vienna from 1900-1920 creating detailed figures of harlequins, animals and children. The bronze stands upon a variegated caramel-tone marble base. 6 1/4" H.

A fine example for the collector of rare bottle openers. The nickel-plated bronze Cubist cockatiel is signed Bizette. The stylized bird is fashioned with a curving neck and beak that form the opener. The noted sculptor Andre Bizzet-Lindet, France 1906-1988, studied under Bouchard at the Ecole Nationale de Beaux Arts in Paris, winning numerous awards. Realistically detailed Vienna cold-painted bronze bulldog. The well-defined body shows crisp texture and muscle tone as well as a defined rib cage, which is painted cream white and brindle. Bronze bottle opener mounted with a cast figural swan. The form is a fine example made by Richard Rohac (1906-1956) in Austria circa 1950. Rohac trained with Hagenauer prior to establishing his own metal workshop in 1932. He was well-known for creating stylized, Modernist figures of animals as well as other decorative sculpture. Unusual French silver tastevin, or wine taster, fashioned by a skilled silversmith from a 5-franc coin. The rim of the hand-hammered bowl, made from the actual edge of the coin, reads, "Dieu Protege La France" (God Protect France). The base of the tastevin is set with a 1919 1-franc coin and the handle is fashioned from a 1916 50-centimes coin. Nice example for the collector, circa 1920. 2" W., 2 3/4" L.
