Fine small Cymric Silver and enamel tray designed by Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co. The tray with its rolled silver edge has a central Art Nouveau medallion with enamels in lush blue and green. Similar to examples of Archibald Knox Cymric frames, vestas and other items with enamel medallions, as pictured in "Liberty Style," by Arwas, and "Archibald Knox," by Martin. An unusal example for the collector of Knox, Liberty's most famous designer. Knox works can be found in museums worldwide including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria & Albert Museum, British Museum and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Hallmarks: L & Co., Birmingham 1904, Cymric. 4 1/2" W.
