Modernist cocktail mixer designed by Carl Conrad Braun for the International Silver Co. circa 1940. From a group of designs created by Braun known as the Tropical Line. The designs evoked Scandinavian influence or incorporated tropical forms. Retains its original pineapple-finial- and leaf- paddle-form mixing spoon. An example of this elegant mixer, with stepped base and rounded Modernist lines, was featured in the exhibit "Modernism in American Silver" curated by the Dallas Museum of Art. Pictured in the book associated with the exhibition culled from the museum's permanent collection, page 146. 11" H.
