Exceptionally well modeled and massive adorned Ratanakosin/ Bangkok-style bronze d'orée seated Buddha in royal attire on multi-tiered lotus throne. The Buddha has an especially serene face with down cast eyes and a tightly curled headdress and flame topped ushnisha, wearing royal garments with scarf ending at his waist. All decorated in raised fashion with floral and leaf motifs. The figure seated in vajrasana position and with calling the earth-touching hand gesture, with two carrying loops in the back for processions. Eighteenth/nineteenth century Bangkok Period. A very similar seated Buddha recently sold at auction for $8,125. Thailand.
