This Spode lidded broth bowl on stand is decorated with the hand coloured chinoiserie pattern 2117. The bowl has a diameter of 106 mm (4.25 inches) and stands 100 mm (4 inches) high including the lid. The stand or saucer has a diameter of 158 mm (6.25 inches). As to condition, everything is in good shape apart from a crack to the bowl, which can be seen in the photos. Weighed against that, is that this is a reasonably rare item and to have survived together for close to 200 years is remarkable. ...

The hand painted centre on this Davenport plate is of a farmhouse on the edge of a wood, surrounded by a gilt frame on a pink ground. It measures 229 mm (9 inches) in diameter. There has been some rubbing of the gilding to the rim and to a small area of the frame. There is also a small chip to the rim. C 1870.

Possibly by Coalport, this porcelain coffee can and saucer are decorated with a wide blue band to the rim which serves as a background to a gilt pattern of leaves and tendrils. Below this is a frieze of gilt tassels. There are sixteen flutes to the body of the cup, which stands 62 mm (2.5 inches) high and has a diameter of 70 mm (2.75 inches). There is some wear to the gilding, particularly in the centre of the saucer and to the rim of the cup. C1800.

This Spode blue and white comport, or footed bowl, would have originally been part of an extensive dessert set. The transfer printed pattern is entitled "Net" and the shape is the "Devonia" shape. It measures 310 mm (12.25 inches) in width, 230 mm (9 inches) in depth and stands 110 mm (4.25 inches) high. The colouring is still quite striking and it is in very good condition apart from a shallow flake taken from the rim and reglued. It measures 18 mm (.75 inch) in length. C 1820.

This papier mache snuff box is decorated with a hand painted portrait of a well dressed lady of the early nineteenth century. Possibly by Stobwasser of Brunswick in Germany it measures 90 mm (3.5 inches) in diameter and stands 20 mm (.75 inch) high. The base has sustained a little bit of damage with a chip to the inner rim that runs for 25 mm ( 1 inch) and some minor chips to the bottom rim. C 1820.

This wheel thrown mug with a lovely strap handle is decorated with a blue spongeware design of a rooster under a tree. It stands 115 mm (4.5 inches) high and has a diameter at the base of 90 mm (3.75 inches). It has a number of tiny nibbles to its edges and a crack that runs for about 35 mm (1 3/8ths inches) from the rim. It would date from around the middle part of the nineteenth century.

This good quality wall mirror is framed with a typical Arts and Crafts hand beaten and riveted copper surround. On each of the corners is a raised roundel and in the centre of the top rail is a Ruskin type enamel cabochon. It measures 530 mm (21 inches) high, 430 mm (17 inches) wide, and weighs just under 4.5 kgs (10 pounds). It is in very good condition and would date from around 1910.

This lovely first period hand painted Worcester teapot has been decorated on either side with cartouches containing Chinese figures. This Doulton Burslem jug was issued in 1892 to mark the death of Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892), who was the Poet Laureate from 1850 until his death. On either side of the jug are moulded semi-relief busts of Tennyson on a vellum coloured ground.
