This very attractive Spode plate is decorated with their printed and hand coloured pattern "Macaw". An illustration of this pattern is shown facing page 84 of Arthur Hayden's 1925 book "Spode and his Successors". The plate measures 255 mm or 10 inches in diameter. It is in very, very good condition and dates from the period 1826-33.

Possibly by Coalport, this porcelain coffee can and saucer are decorated with a wide blue band to the rim which serves as a background to a gilt pattern of leaves and tendrils. Below this is a frieze of gilt tassels. There are sixteen flutes to the body of the cup, which stands 62 mm (2.5 inches) high and has a diameter of 70 mm (2.75 inches). There is some wear to the gilding, particularly in the centre of the saucer and to the rim of the cup. C1800.

This very attractive Spode felspar porcelain plate is decorated with the Japan or Imari pattern 3955. This pattern was introduced in 1824 and this piece would date from 1824-33. It is 247 mm in diameter and is in good condition with some minor loss of the gilding, mainly to the central well and the rim, as well as a small underglaze area of surface roughness. Spode's Felspar Porcelain is really a bone china with some of the Cornish stone replaced by feldspar.....refer "Spode and Copeland Marks" ...

The cartwheel penny was circulated in 1797 as the first British copper penny. The obverse has a portait of George III and the reverse has a seated statue of Brittania. This fairly worn specimen has been converted into a locket with facility for two photographs inside. It is 40 mm (1.5 inches) in diameter, mounted in white metal, and weighs 50 gms, including the chain.

The Ashbourne pattern (pattern 8524) that decorates this Shelley milk jug and sugar bowl was designed by Walter Slater and introduced in 1912. It is on the Gainsborough shape and its condition is excellent. The colours and gilding are still vivid, however it does have a tiny area of discolouration on the shoulder of the jug. C1912-6.

Hand coloured and gilded with the Imari pattern colours of underglaze blue and onglaze iron red this two handled mug by F & R Pratt of Fenton in Staffordshire stands 114mm high with the body having a diameter of 113mm. Although it is unmarked it corresponds with later marked specimens which carry the same pattern and pattern number-No 340. It is reasonable condition with some crazing, some slight loss of the gilding, and a crack to the base as shown in the photo. C1840.

Dating from 1816-33, this Spode dessert bowl is decorated with the popular printed Blue Italian pattern. It measures 236 mm (9.25 inches) long, including the handle, and 207 mm (8 inches) wide. The colour is still strong, there are no chips or cracks, but there are signs that it has been used.
