This Caughley hand painted porcelain tea bowl features 28 vertical flutes and stands 44 mm (1.75 inches) tall with a diameter of 85 mm (3 3/8ths inches). The Ashbourne pattern (pattern 8524) that decorates this Shelley cake plate was designed by Walter Slater and introduced in 1912. It is on the Gainsborough shape and its condition is excellent. It is unmarked but corresponds to plate 143, page 128 of Geoffrey Goddens' "Ridgway Porcelains" 1985. It measures 264mm across both handles and is in extremely good condition with only some very, very minor scratches to the maroon ground. The colours and gilding are still bright and the whole piece is enlivened by the floral sprays to the centre. C 1850.

This Susie Cooper milk jug and sugar bowl are decorated with the Keystone pattern (pattern C2131 issued in May 1968) in matt black. The height of the milk jug is 63mm. There is a small, very shallow chip to the base of the jug that is ex-factory as it has been covered in the glaze. There is also a small scratch to the decoration on the jug which is just visible in the photo.It dates from 1968-70 from her time at Wedgwood.

This very finely potted porcelain cup was made by the Rathbone factory of Tunstall, Staffordshire. It has been decorated with a bat printed rural scene of two women walking down a road near a herd of cattle. In the middle distance is a large house and further back is the steeple of a church. The Poetical & Prose Works of Robert Burns was printed by Charles Daly in 1840 and it contains the story of Burns' life, his poetry and correspondence. This copy carries an inscription "C A Holmes with Mrs Macken? ? and kind regards". The gilt embossed leather binding has slight signs of wear, but the binding is still tight.
