This large copper tray was hand beaten by John Pearson (1859-1930), a master craftsman in the British Arts and Crafts movement. A nice feature, and one rarely seen, is the twist added to the handles-perhaps to give the carrier a better grip as it is a large, heavy tray. Pearson stamped his mark onto the back at both ends. Standing 385mm, or 15 inches, high this eyecatching Crown Devon ruby lustre lidded temple jar really stands out. The Crown Devon lustrine series was first introduced in the 1920's, and this piece would date from around 1935. The oriental scene decoration is hand enamelled over a printed gold pattern, and the lid and base are hand gilded. It is in excellent condition.

The base of this early Victorian sewing reel stand and pincushion is veneered with a geometric pattern and the scalloped edge features contrasting light and dark timber. It stands 160mm high, the width of the base is 175mm, it rests on three round brass feet and the reel pins are brass. The base has warped, but because of the three feet it it still stable. It has retained its original patina but has lost a piece of veneer, as can be seen in the photos. C1840.

This Hadley Worcester onion shaped vase is decorated with subtle hand painted sprays of white and grey dog roses and green foliage. It also features a reticulated neck, coloured clay mounts and gilding. It stands 160mm high. The shape number is F127 which is not seen all that often. Its condition is very good, but it does suffer from some loss of the gilding to the rim and the foot which is just visible in the photo. It dates from 1897-1900.

This Spode blue and white comport, or footed bowl, would have originally been part of an extensive dessert set. The transfer printed pattern is entitled "Net" and the shape is the "Devonia" shape. It measures 310 mm (12.25 inches) in width, 230 mm (9 inches) in depth and stands 110 mm (4.25 inches) high. The colouring is still quite striking and it is in very good condition apart from a shallow flake taken from the rim and reglued. It measures 18 mm (.75 inch) in length. C 1820.
