Possibly by the Yorkshire factory of Rockingham, this porcelain spill vase has been decorated with gilding and a hand painted scene of two cherubs cavorting on a cloud. The reverse features a spray of two roses and some bluebells. It stands 112 mm (4.5 inches) high, with a diameter of 57 mm (2.25 inches) at the top, whilst the foot has a diameter of 69 mm (2.75 inches). It is in very good condition, but does have some very faint crazing. C 1830.

A lovely pair of Japanese Satsuma tea canisters. They are decorated on all four sides, and the lids, with hand enamelled scenes of wildflowers and butterflies, on a buff ground with pale pink and gilt features. They stand 143 mm (5.75 inches) high and are 127 mm (5 inches) square. Both canisters have retained their inner lid, but one of the outer lids has been repaired. This exquisite small ladies purse is formed of moulded tortoiseshell, decorated with inlaid silver and closes on a silver clasp. Inside there are four compartments formed from the aqua coloured watered or moire silk lining. One of the compartments locks using a small latch like arrangement. The width is 67 mm (2 5/8ths inches), the depth 42 mm (1.75 inches) and it is 22 mm (7/8ths of an inch) thick. It is in exceptionally good condition and would date from around 1860.

This Doulton Burslem jug was issued in 1892 to mark the death of Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892), who was the Poet Laureate from 1850 until his death.
