This large sterling silver pig pincushion was made by Adie and Lovekin Ltd of Birmingham in what appears to be 1906 - the date letter is somewhat rubbed, but it is certainly of that period. The length of this muscular pig is 86 mm (3 3/8ths inches), it stands 46 mm (1.75 inches) high and is 28 mm (1 inch) deep. Although structurally sound, there are a few minor dents, a couple of light scratches, and his tail has been pushed in.

This turned and carved paper knife is made of bone and is a souvenir of Brighton. Made in four sections that screw together, the finial contains a Stanhope that shows five views of Brighton and the English Channel. This Doulton Burslem jug was issued in 1892 to mark the death of Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892), who was the Poet Laureate from 1850 until his death. On either side of the jug are moulded semi-relief busts of Tennyson on a vellum coloured ground. Made in earthenware it stands 183 mm (7.25 inches) high and has a diameter of 137 mm (5 3/8ths inches). It is in very good condition.

This exquisite small ladies purse is formed of moulded tortoiseshell, decorated with inlaid silver and closes on a silver clasp. Inside there are four compartments formed from the aqua coloured watered or moire silk lining. One of the compartments locks using a small latch like arrangement. The width is 67 mm (2 5/8ths inches), the depth 42 mm (1.75 inches) and it is 22 mm (7/8ths of an inch) thick. It is in exceptionally good condition and would date from around 1860.
