A very pretty Rockingham hand painted and gilded trio decorated with pattern 958. The shape is "Basket Weave", with a moulded basket weave pattern to the outside of the cups and to the base of the saucer. There are plain cartouches on either side of the cups which have been decorated with small sprays of flowers. It does have some very faint crazing and there is a very small area of light discolouration to the outside of the coffee cup-otherwise it is in superb condition. C1830-42

This very attractive French silver cake slice, or dessert spoon, features an embossed silver handle and a silver gilt blade. The French silver mark showing the head of Minerva is stamped on the handle where it joins the blade. The stamp fails to show the fineness of the silver, whether it is 925 parts per 1000, or 800 parts per 1000, so I will assume 800 parts per 1000. The blade is decorated with hand engraved lines to the outer edge that were done before it was gilded, and it also carries the...

Decorated with an underglaze blue and white chinoiserie pattern, this earthenware punch bowl has been attributed to the Herculaneum factory of Liverpool. This souvenir pin cushion is decorated on both sides with reverse painted scenes from Kings College Cambridge. On the front is a view of the chapel, and on the reverse, a depiction of the college's coat of arms. Reverse painting is done on the underside of the glass so that the glass protects the painting from wear. In this case very fine strips of foil were applied to the glass then painted over, giving an impression of the sun glinting on the building. Sandwiched between the two glass panels i...
