This lovely sterling silver berry spoon by James and Josiah Williams of Exeter carries the date mark for 1861. The ornate decoration leads down the handle to the bowl which features, amongst other fruit, a pineapple, an orange and some grapes, with the bowl having been given a gilt wash. This pair of silver plated fish servers were made by Elkington & Co. They are quite weighty and are decorated with very ornate and very detailed engraving, more so on the fish slice which offers a broader area. The slice is 325 mm (12.75 inches) in length and the fork is 247 mm (9.75 inches). Both pieces are in very, very good condition and carry Elkington's date code for 1880.
