This hand painted bone china cup and saucer was made at the Verreville works in Glasgow. It is decorated with a daintily painted pattern of small flowers and foliage. The base of both pieces is marked with the pattern number 200. Otherwise it is unmarked, but the cup corresponds to plate 82, on page 16 of Berthoud and Maskell's "Cups in Colour". It is very good condition. C 1840.

This very attractive silver plated footed fruit bowl with swing handle, was made by Orvit of Germany and is in the classic Art Nouveau style featuring embossed roses and entwined stems. The stand is in excellent condition (it has been replated) and has its original glass liner which is also in excellent condition. This Shelley cress dish and stand was decorated by hand with the blue tones of the Shelley Harmony range. The draining dish has a diameter of 196 mm (7.75 inches) and stands 60 mm (2.5 inches) high, whilst the stand has a diameter of 183 mm (7.25 inches). There are a few minor scratches, mainly to the stand and these are the only blemishes. This would date from the 1930's.
