This French gilt brass mounted porcelain ladies inkwell has been decorated with a hand painted pattern of swags of flowers enclosing a diaper pattern on a yellow ground. The lid has a central rose bud with leaves surrounded by a ring of hand painted flowers. It stands 87 mm (3.5 inches high) and has a diameter at the top of 62 mm (2.5 inches). There is a little damage to the applied rose, a leaf missing and a crack to the base of the glass liner. C 1900.

This turned and carved paper knife is made of bone and is a souvenir of Brighton. Made in four sections that screw together, the finial contains a Stanhope that shows five views of Brighton and the English Channel. It is 234 mm (9.25 inches) long and still fits together beautifully. However there are two short, very fine cracks to the top and a little bit of damage to the finial. c 1880.

This impression of a wax seal resides in a nicely turned ebony box 41 mm (1 21/32nds of an inch) in diameter and 11 mm (3/8ths of an inch) thick. The seal is the head of a goat below a baron's coronet. This device was used by Viscount Chetwynd as Baron Rathdowne of Ireland, and the Marquess of Tweeddale as Baron Hay of Scotland. The seal has a small crack and chip, but the box is in very good condition. It would date from around 1830.
