The cartwheel penny was circulated in 1797 as the first British copper penny. The obverse has a portait of George III and the reverse has a seated statue of Brittania. This fairly worn specimen has been converted into a locket with facility for two photographs inside. It is 40 mm (1.5 inches) in diameter, mounted in white metal, and weighs 50 gms, including the chain.

This good quality wall mirror is framed with a typical Arts and Crafts hand beaten and riveted copper surround. On each of the corners is a raised roundel and in the centre of the top rail is a Ruskin type enamel cabochon. It measures 530 mm (21 inches) high, 430 mm (17 inches) wide, and weighs just under 4.5 kgs (10 pounds). It is in very good condition and would date from around 1910.

This Barr, Flight and Barr bowl is painted in underglaze blue as the base for the "Japan" fence pattern. For some reason it did not get to the on glaze decoration stage. It is impressed with the Barr, Flight and Barr mark of 1804-13 although Henry Sandon in his book "Flight and Barr Worcester Porcelain" dates the pattern to C1810-15. Possibly by Coalport, this porcelain coffee can and saucer are decorated with a wide blue band to the rim which serves as a background to a gilt pattern of leaves and tendrils. Below this is a frieze of gilt tassels. There are sixteen flutes to the body of the cup, which stands 62 mm (2.5 inches) high and has a diameter of 70 mm (2.75 inches). There is some wear to the gilding, particularly in the centre of the saucer and to the rim of the cup. C1800.

This Chinese filligree silver gilt card case with a lift off lid measures 88 mm (3.5 inches) in height, 56 mm (2.25 inches) in width and has a thickess of 16 mm (5/8ths of an inch). The central cartouches on either side feature intricate raised filligree work. There are two very small areas of damage to one side and there has been some loss of the gilding where it has been handled. C 1870.

This hand painted and gilded vase by Coalport stands 187mm high and is decorated on both sides with posies of flowers. The moulding top and bottom suggest acanthus leaves, and sprouting from the twig handles are coloured and gilded leaves. These are complemented by the maroon ground and the gilding. This style of vase is sometimes known as "Brewer" vases, named after the potter who originally modelled them. It is unmarked but corresponds to plate 173 in Messenger's "Coalport 1795-1926"...
