This pretty sterling silver hand mirror and brush set has been decorated with an engined turned pattern to the back within a border of stylised flower heads. They are then edged with a beaded motif. Each piece is centred with a round cartouche for the owners initials - these are blank. The mirror, which has a bevelled edge to the glass, is 280 mm (11 Inches) in length and has a width of 140 mm (5.5 inches) , whilst the brush is 260 mm (10.25 inches) long and 83 mm (3.5 inches) wide...

This lovely sterling silver berry spoon by James and Josiah Williams of Exeter carries the date mark for 1861. The ornate decoration leads down the handle to the bowl which features, amongst other fruit, a pineapple, an orange and some grapes, with the bowl having been given a gilt wash. The length of the spoon is 234 mm (9.25 inches) and it weighs 87 gms (2.79 troy ounces). It is in very good condition.

This large Georgian sterling silver ladle carries the makers mark for Graham and McLean of Glasgow and was assayed in Edinburgh in 1801. It also carries a family crest, possibly Scottish, and the monogram I (or J) MB. It weighs 245 gms, (7.88 troy ounces) and measures 371 mm (14.5 inches) in length. It is in very good condition.

This very decorative sterling silver sifter spoon was made in by Charles Harris in London in 1889. On top of the barley twist handle is a cast silver figure. The spoon measures 153 mm (6 inches) from the top of the handle to the bowl. The bowl has a diameter of 50 mm (2 inches) and the spoon weighs 28 gms. It is in very good condition.

This good quality sterling silver card case was made by Edward Smith of Birmingham in 1854. Both sides are decorated with the same richly engraved pattern where the centre panel features a cornucopia of fruit and the surrounding panels depict flowers and foliage. Smith was a good maker, noted for making card cases decorated with engine turning and engraving. On the front, immediately below the cornucopia, is a family crest above the initials "MA"...

These two pieces of Gorham sterling silver flatware are decorated with the Versailles pattern, which was introduced in 1888. The butter knife, or possibly a pickle knife, is 165 mm (6.5 inches) in length and weighs 34 gms. The spoon measures 153 mm (6 inches) in length, 38 mm (1.5 inches) across the bowl, and weighs 29 gms. Both pieces are in good condition, but the spoon appears to have had something dropped across the bowl, very slightly distorting the edges...
