This late Georgian reel holder is veneered in mahogany and has a single full depth drawer.It stands on four ball feet and is 233 mm (9.5 inches) high to the top of the reel posts. The width is 147 mm (5.75 inches), and the depth is 186 mm ( 7.25 inches). It has retained its original patina. The reels are supported on thick copper wire. There are several names written in pencil on the sides and bottom of the drawer-perhaps previous owners. C 1780.

This brass novelty sewing tape measure in the form of a Victorian bathing box. It stands 47 mm (just under 2 inches) high, is 32 mm (1.25 inches) wide and 70 mm (2.75 inches) long. It has lost the base of the box and the tab on the end of the tape. It would date from the last quarter of the nineteenth century. A very pretty Worcester hand painted porcelain thimble decorated with dog roses and finished off with hand gilding. It is 25 mm (1 inch) high, with a diameter at the base of 20 mm (3/4 of an inch). It is unsigned and would date from the 1880's.

This souvenir pin cushion is decorated on both sides with reverse painted scenes from Kings College Cambridge. On the front is a view of the chapel, and on the reverse, a depiction of the college's coat of arms. Reverse painting is done on the underside of the glass so that the glass protects the painting from wear. In this case very fine strips of foil were applied to the glass then painted over, giving an impression of the sun glinting on the building...

Made of mahogany, this revolving cotton reel holder has been fashioned in the shape of a table of the early to middle part of the nineteenth century. There are seven spindles to hold cotton reels, a central thimble holder and around the edge of the table top is a pin cushion. It stands 122 mm (5 inches) high to the top of the spindles, and has a diameter of 132 mm (5.5 inches). It is in very good condition, but I suspect a couple of the spindles have been replaced. c 1850.

The base of this early Victorian sewing reel stand and pincushion is veneered with a geometric pattern and the scalloped edge features contrasting light and dark timber. It stands 160mm high, the width of the base is 175mm, it rests on three round brass feet and the reel pins are brass. The base has warped, but because of the three feet it it still stable. It has retained its original patina but has lost a piece of veneer, as can be seen in the photos. C1840.
