The Poetical & Prose Works of Robert Burns was printed by Charles Daly in 1840 and it contains the story of Burns' life, his poetry and correspondence. This copy carries an inscription "C A Holmes with Mrs Macken? ? and kind regards". The gilt embossed leather binding has slight signs of wear, but the binding is still tight.

This book is entitled "Joan Sutherland A Tribute" and is number 479 of a limited edition of 500 issued in 1989 by the Art Gallery of New South Wales. It is signed by Sutherland on the title page. Its 128 pages contain many photos and drawings of Sutherland and her costumes, plus a list of operatic performances. It is in very good condition and in its original presentation box. It is a heavy book, so postage will be commensurate.

The Mauchline Ware binding on this book of poetry and letters by Robert Burns features a photographic view of the Burns Monument that overlooks the River Doon, near Alloway in Ayrshire, Scotland. Also on the front board are four Mauchline Ware prints- "Scene on the Doon", "Auld Brig O'Doon", "Alloway Kirk", and "Burns' Cottage", whilst the back board carries a larger print "The Braes of Ballochmyle". The book itself was published by Gall and Inglis in around 1865...

Bound in blue with gilt lettering, these books were aimed at the owner who wanted to be involved in the care and maintenance of his vehicle, as well as those engaged in the motoring industry. The information in the three volumes covers text as well as detailed diagrams and photographs and would have been very up to date in 1929...
