This large reverse painted glass is decorated with a scene of birds, flowers and a butterfly. The glass has been etched and engraved on the back, then painted and gilded and mounted in a stained pine frame. This gives you a clean surface and ensures that the decoration cannot be damaged with usage. The brass handles are replacements as the originals had been removed and the tray hung on a wall as a painting. The initials in the bottom right are DGI. It is 625 mm (24.75 inches) long, including the handles, and 460 mm (18.25 inches) wide. It is in very good condition and dates from around 1880.
