This Doulton Burslem vase features a very pretty hand painted scene of a lady holding an armful of roses. It was painted by Frederick Sutton, who was employed at Doulton Burslem from about 1898 through to 1913. He came to Doulton from Royal Worcester, and prior to that he had been at Minton and Coalport as a painter. The vase stands 254 mm ( 10 inches) high and is approximately 100 mm ( 4 inches) at its widest. There are one or two very, very small scuffs of the paintwork to the side and rear, otherwise it is in very good condition. It would date from the period 1898-1901.
