The upswept petals of the flower show some traces of gilding and speak for a cyclamen, and, the floral twig with buds applied on the vertical stem hints in that direction as well. German hallmarks. This absolutely wonderful pair of Victorian opera glasses are marked Lemaire Fabt, Paris. They were made in Paris, and date back to about 1880-90. They measure 4” wide and 3” tall when fully extended and were part of the extravagant Paris opera scene during the Victorian period. What a joy to be able to take them to the opera today. It comes with leather casing with red velvet lining. Condition is good with age wear to the leather. Shipping is FREE within the U.S.
