Thomas Moran was an eminent American painter and printmaker, who is known for his depictions of the natural landscapes of America. Early in his career, he became enamored with the process of British mezzotint engraving. In the spring of 1882, Thomas and his Scottish wife, Mary, visited her native Scotland, when this print was first created. Excellent condition, but not examined out of the recent frame.
