This very nice black doll has a face constructed with a center seam. I like this kind of doll and I don't see a lot of them. Her face has floss embroidered features. She is made with brown polished cotton fabric and is stuffed with cotton medium firm. She has wool yarn hair that is pulled through the fabric, not an easy feat I would imagine. She has great ears with one earring in her ear and the other one is around her wrist. She has on a brown, tan and yellow plaid dress that fits her very well and has the look that it has been on her a long time. At her neck is a scarf with a pin of children holding it in place. She has very plain pantaloons and a petticoat with lace around the bottom. She is a very at ease, comfortable feeling doll that would be nice to have around. 20" and circa 1890-1900.
