A nice early rag doll with a recovered face and another that has been taken off. Her body is all original including her head but the original face is under the face that is now there. It is tied on at the neck but I figure whoever took off the first face probably check the original one and chose to leave this one on. It doesn't look like it has been off for a long time and I think she looks great as she is.
She is made with a caramel colored twill fabric and she is all hand sewn. She is wearing the clothes that she came in, a white sleeveless blouse and a rose bud calico skirt with lace trim. She has on a little pair of underwear and two socks on one leg and one on the other. She came with the 3rd face and a note pinned to her that reads, Rag Doll Hazel Williams. She is 16" tall is circa 1890. She is the kind of rag doll that was available in the 1970's untouched with just nice old cloths.
