I left this girl last night sitting waiting to have her picture taken early this morning. She looked fine to me when I sat her on the table but when I walked in this morning I had read her wrong. She was and is exhausted. Her body looks tired, her body language is tired and she made me feel tired. It has taken me until after lunch to take pictures of her. Her face is ink and pencil and her face is pleasant. She has on lots of clothes, with petticoats and pants like diapers and a calico dress and a worn out blue check apron.
She has been recovered, she has funny feet, she has cloth gloves for hands, (clever and they might be original). She has a cloth strip around her neck where the fabric is weak. She is straw stuffed with some cotton and rag stuffing in her body as well as straw. She is very tired and will need a quiet place to sit. I think she has earned it. 27" tall and circa 1890
