This doll is 17” tall but still has the feeling of a small doll. She has a painted face over stockinette, I have only seen that once or twice in all the dolls I have had. She has a great raised nose that I think it is wood underneath. She has nice blue eyes and black painted curls around her face. She is all hand sewn. She has on a blue calico dress, blue and white striped socks and sweet red leather shoes. There is separation of the paint by her nose but it is the stretchy stockinette that has allowed it to crack, it is not lifting or flaking or acting like it will get worse. To the touch her face feels smooth. She is painted with an unschooled hand that gives her a very folky look. She is circa 1880. She is really one of a kind and wonderful.
