This is a little bisque doll outfitted by the Shakers for sale in their gift shops. She is a penwipe doll with a wool pleated skirt that would have been used to clean the pen nub that was always getting clogged. This one was never used and is a nice early example. Her outfit is made with rust and camel colored wool with no moth holes. (The color in the pictures is a little to bright and a little too yellow. The colors are more mellow.) She is 2 1/2" tall and is circa 1890.
In the last picture you can see her feet and one is larger than the other, it is in the making her foot is not chipped.
