This doll speaks for herself but a picture is worth thousand words. She is outstanding in the world of pencil face dolls. Her face is subtle but dear with large round eyes, straight mouth and two line nose. She is cotton stuffed and has an extreme hourglass body. She is all hand sewn homespun linen and even with all that patina on her face it is her second face. Her arms have been recovered several times and her hands have wear and some loss. I didn't take off her bodice or bloomers but they also are all hand sewn and I love how the folds conform to her body and haven't been off for maybe 100 years. You just cannot put them back on so they look like that again. Her clothes are all hand sewn and wonderful, that said they were assembled and not original to each other. I wouldn't change them for the world they are perfect on her. She is 25" tall and is circa 1870-80
