This dolls face makes me think of an old black and white photograph. There is a lot of gray, and cream colors with a touch of blue for her eyes and brown eyebrows and brown curly hair on her forehead. Her face is skillfully painted and with a solemn quiet feeling about her. She is a firm heavy cotton stuffed doll. She is a very interesting construction with a six gore shoulder plate. Probably not anything is original but she is wearing shoes and stockings, bloomers, flannel petticoat, cotton dress and a bonnet all antique and appropriate. On her right hand she is missing all four fingers but her thumb is still there. She is 27" tall and circa 1890. She would win a stare down contest. Having seen a lot of dolls in my time I have not seen another one like this, I think she is amazing.
