A striking silver guilloche lidded box with foliate and scroll work on gold ground with applied blue enamel. The edges of the lid are scalloped with alternating points and arches. The body is 990 parts per 1000 silver - finer than sterling - with rich texture - a testimony to its fine quality. Hand work is evident throughout.
The box was a gift from the government of South Korea to a world renowned urologist who practiced at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
Condition is very good to excellent.
