Vermeil Rhinestone Brooch
This wonderful c. 1940s floral bouquet is made of vermeil - popular during World War 2 due to the shortage of other materials traditionally used in costume jewelry. The gold plated leaves partially conceal 3 amethyst colored rhinestones. Condition is very good for age but has light mossing or scratching here and there with a bit of rubbing in a couple of places on the back. The center stone has a small bit of foil peeling on the back. Marked Sterling.
