This interesting vase has a notch in it making it look a little like Pac Man, but giving it a very distinct form. However, we believe that it was created in a studio by excellent ceramicists who decorated the vase with free flowing green and blue glazes. One side has a stack of incised chevrons running down the center. The underside is marked with what appears to be W NZ VI, marks whose identity elude us. The vase has considerable heft for its size.
While dating is a little fuzzy, I suspect it to be no later than 1950s, but could be as early as 1920s.
Very good to excellent condition with a very small chip at the foot - normally not visible, especially when displayed on a shelf or in a cabinet.
7 3/4" h
