Long before Norman Rockwell became a legend at The Saturday Evening Post, this Curtis Publishing Company juggernaut established itself is a publisher of leading and future literary figures, not the least of whom was Jack London. The magazine struck a gold vein when it published the little known Jack London whose Call of the Wild novel would become a fixture on high school and college reading lists for decades to come. The American classic first appeared on the page of SEP before it become a monster hit as a book. We have an assembly of all 5 issues of SEP from June 20, 1903, the first appearance of the serialized version of Call of the Wild, to its final installment which appeared in the July 18, 1903 issue. Finding any one of these highly collectible issues is difficult and rewarding itself, but finding all 5 of them is a goal which fewer people achieve because of the desirability and rarity of these 5 gem issues. While our specimens suffer damage, their rarities and otherwise fine to excellent conditions warrant serious consideration. The 5 covers have some degree of dampstaining as the pictures show, but the interiors are in very good to excellent condition. The stapled bindings are all solid. All covers have age toning and some minor curling or creasing. Fortunately, these conditions are treatable by a paper conservationist and indeed are worthy of such an investment.

If other images of the magazines is desired, please request.

This collection is something to display as a respect for culture, literature, and American history.
