American Brilliant Cut Glass Footed Vase

A fine American Brilliant Cut Glass period footed vase of bulbous form. The large base has a 16 point star on the underside from which rises a short thick stem supporting the main body which has cut slices at the bottom and top of the bowl between which are rich cuts of geometric form, hobstars, and fans among others. The mouth is wide with scalloped rims the outside of which are slightly beveled. Stippled diamonds ring the neck. This well done vase represents the middle period of ABCG so I would date it c. 1890 though I cannot guarantee the date. Condition is excellent. Height 8". The uncommon globular form is pleasing to behold.
