A great Royall Lyme Toilet Lotion display tester bottle from c. 1960s - the date is my educated guess since the brand first appeared in Brooks Brothers in 1960. To this day, the firm takes great pride in its bottles as the following ad copy reveals, The handsome packaging is reminiscent of the Bermuda of old; the bottles are of semi-hand-made glass from original clay molds with antimonial pewter-colored lead crown caps. Molded on each bottle is a crown and lime cluster with the words "ROYALL LYME" and on the bottom of the bottle "ROYALL LYME LIMITED". Each bottle has the fragrance name and crown in raised glass on the back, with a stunning and distinctive colored label on the front, individually wrapped in fine parchment with a crown wax seal made with the same wax used by the Bank of England. Quality standards of care and attention to detail are found in every piece. The bottle is in excellent condition but the stopper has some chips, a phenomenon I have see on similar examples of this size which suggests that they may have required some effort to open. Or that may be the original condition. The label has loss as shown in the first photograph. About 14" high. Dimensions: 6.25" w, 3 5/8" d, 14" h This fabulous display bottle is in good condition with loss and discoloration on the label.
