If you are tired of the mundane, normal, and ho-hum, you must consider this antique tin wall sconce. I was gob smacked when I first saw it. It is intricately stamped with sun flowers, fruits, and foliage, and it is large. In the center is a concave recession which may have been for its reflector. However, the paint appears to be original. In addition to the surface decoration, a small bouquet of flowers is attached beneath the lighting. Although I have tagged this item as late 19th C., it may be somewhat earlier. This exceptional antique is better suited to more rustic or country environments, but restoration may make it a candidate for more formal decors. Wherever you decide to show it, it is a grand vision. Dimensions: 25" w, 7" d, 29" h The sconce displays very well and its defects are not obvious. There is some small curling in the metal at the top. When I say that there is a loss of patina, I mean to say that I believe that the sconce may have had a wash of gold over it which has faded in regions. The arms of the light show loss of finish in places. The cord was jerry-rigged, and depending upon your purposes, you may wish to have it rewired. The electrical lighting is a later addition but appears reversible.
