Antique 19th Century Mt Washington point Cameo Rose Bride Basket
An exceptional and rare cameo glass bride basket on quadruple silver plate stand. The rose colored cameo is striking and as fresh today as it was c. 1880 when it was first created. The glass was produced by Mt Washington while the silverplate was produced by Pairpoint and is so marked. The basket handle uses a branch and leaf motif with the latter being applied over the former. The basket well is reticulated, the base having swirls and leaves, all standing on 4 feet. Do not overlook the wave form of the basket, another feature contributing to its rarity and artistic excellence. If you want a bride basket which stands above the crowd, this one should be on your short list. Approximately 10" h.
Condition
Condition of the bowl is in generally excellent antique condition, but please note that the glass has small production bump, and the rim has a couple of small scuffy sections with a couple of small black specks. There is also a couple of small dark blemishes in the interior. The stand has been cleaned but still has a bit of tarnish.
