A large oil on canvas by Henry Charles Lee (American, 1864-1930) titled on the stretcher, “Winter Landscape” and signed lower left “Henry C. Lee.” He lived in Cornwall New York and in France, where he died. The stretcher had an old label for a French artist supplies dealer Lucien LeFevre-Foinet with the number 7350.

Under a partly cloudy but blue sky the sun casts the shadows of bare trees on the slope in the foreground while the hills and cloudy sky show beyond...

This large painting depicts two leaning palm trees just above a beach with two high tide lines of debris, curling waves and seagulls all under a sunny but partially cloudy sky. Signed, “A. A good view of sailboats at sea with some clouds, a stiff breeze and accompanying gulls. The painting is 17 5/8 inches by 19 ½ inches. With the frame it is 22 ½ inches by 24 3/8 inches.
