A molded Chinese porcelain bowl decorated with a dark powder blue ground, extensive gilding and on each side within the molded recessed panels an elaborate bouquet of flowers. The inspiration for the flowers is Meissen or some other German porcelain manufacturer, but the gilding, the dark blue ground and the porcelain make it definitely Chinese from before 1800. The underside marked with an accession number. It is removable. 2 ¼ inches (5.7cm) tall and 4 ¼ inches (10.8 cm) diameter.

An elaborately molded plate with three hand painted sprigs of flowers. The pattern is one that was made by CJ Mason circa 1825 in the rococo revival taste. 8 ½ inches diameter.

Condition: Minor gilding wear and a few knife scratches, but otherwise no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs.

A pen and ink with grey wash drawing on laid paper of mostly sail boats in what appears to be an estuary with a substantial building in the distance and an expansive sky framed in an older, probably early 20th century, mat and worn gilt frame. On the back of the drawing in pencil are various writings including, “Van de Velde” in the upper left corner. A hexagonal Worcester teapot stand circa 1760 with molded chrysanthemums overlaid by blue painted blossoms which are repeated in a garland formation on the interior rim. Diameter is approximately 5 inches (12.7 cm), and height is approximately 5/8 of an inch (1.6 cm).

Condition: Slight discoloration on bottom. No chips, cracks, or repairs.

The teapot stand is an attractive shape with a nice contrast between the painting and molding.

A nice watercolor portrait of a young man, probably in his mid-teens, signed, “Elinor M. Barnard/1933.” The young man with brown hair and eyes wearing an open necked white shirt leans into the picture plane with a sense of youthful eagerness. Elinor Barnard (1872-1942) was born and studied in the UK, but worked mostly in the USA, principally New York City. She has a relaxed and economical style. Sight size 16 3/8 by 12 ¼ inches. A blue and white parian pitcher with raised oak leaves and acorns and a “branch” handle and spout. The oak portions in white against a textured blue painted ground. Marked on the underside with the U.S. Pottery Company ribbon mark with “No. 16.” and the number 12. This mark used in the 1850’s. 8 5/8 inches tall and 6 ¾ inches across handle and spout.

Condition: no chips or repairs, but a crack in the base of the handle.

An underglaze blue hand painted ”Ronda” pattern soft paste porcelain plate with a deep molded rib border and barbed edge. Though unmarked the painted pattern and the distinctive molding are typical of Tournai. The diameter is 8 inches (20.32 cm).

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some wear and a little associated discoloration.

A porcelain teapot stand with a dry base and a blue transferred scene of a Chinese house surrounded by trees on an island. A boat is landing at one side of the island. The raised rim is printed with Chinese patterns, some blurred in the transfer. Bands of gilt are on the top and bottom edges of the raised rim. A porcelain plate decorated with floral sprigs and bouquets with a shaped rim decorated with gilt dentil edge marked on the underside with a “B” in underglaze blue. 9 inch (23 cm) diameter. This short lived porcelain factory, roughly 1776-1781, had the Duc d’Orleans (cousin of the King Louis XVI) as its patron.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some wear to the gilding and a little stacking wear.

The Boydell Gallery of paintings from Shakespeare must have been an amazing site in fashionable London in the early 19th century. The publisher, John Boydell, commissioned some of the leading artists of the day to paint scenes from Shakespeare and to display the paintings at the publishers Shakespeare Gallery in Pall Mall. A Rococo style bronze stand for either fire tools or umbrellas. May have been gilt at one time. 28 ½ inches tall and 10 inches across. French 19th century.

Condition: If gilt most of it is gone. Red showing in some of the bronze. Replaced screw holding the base and standard together. Good structural condition without repairs.

A small maiolica teapot and cover hand painted with rural scenes dominated by a tree in the foreground on either side. On the sides with the spout and the handle the decoration is the sky with birds. The predominant colors are green, yellow, blue and brown with some orange and a deep not very clear purple. SOLD An underglaze blue transfer printed porcelain mug in the “Fisherman” pattern with a loop handle circa 1790. Marked on the bottom with a transfer printed “S.” 3 ¼ inches tall, 3 ¾ inches across the handle.

Condition: no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Good clear printing of the pattern in an even blue.

Nice example of a popular pattern that Caughley used on numerous different pieces of porcelain.

A nicely hand painted in undergaze blue saucer dish centered on a crab with four different fish swimming around it through bubbles bordered by plants under arches and more plants and flowers around the outer ruffled rim. The underside has more blue flowers and plants with double circles and a symbol inside the foot rim. The arches of the top of the plate are echoed in the inscribed arches on the back. A Chinese porcelain early 18th century large handleless cup with hand painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration. On the inside a saw tooth band is between faint blue lines located near the ruffled rim and a scene of an insect above a flower and grasses in the bottom. On the outside are stylized flowers in jars, in lower arches and rising above the arches between the jars. The foot is high. Height 2 inches (5 cm) and diameter 3 3/8 inches (8.5 cm).

A Chinese thinly potted porcelain saucer dish with underglaze cobalt decoration. The central decoration of plants and grasses rising from rocks is surrounded by a two part border of different leaves of water plants. The flared upper rim is molded and the outer edge lobed. On the back in underglaze blue are two trailing plants. 1 inch (2.5 cm) tall and 5 inches (12.5 cm) diameter.
