An elaborately molded plate with three hand painted sprigs of flowers. The pattern is one that was made by CJ Mason circa 1825 in the rococo revival taste. 8 ½ inches diameter.

Condition: Minor gilding wear and a few knife scratches, but otherwise no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs.

A pair of CJ Mason porcelain plates circa 1825 A pair of distinctively molded bone china porcelain plates from the Mason factory circa 1825. Each is hand painted with a bouquet of flowers and the molded pattern enhanced with copper tinged gilding. They have no maker’s mark, but this molded porcelain is associated with the factory. Pattern mark 963 on the back of both, though the “9” is hardly there on one of the plates. 8 ½ inches diameter.

Signed in pencil lower right, “Dolice” and located in pencil lower left, “Washington Square N.Y.” Good crisp print, overall size 13 1/8 by 9 5/8 inches. The image 11 by 8 inches. Okii Hashimoto, Japanese (1899-1993), woodblock print titled in pencil in the left margin, pencil signed on the lower margin, the artist’s printed signature on right and red seal on the lower left of the print. Probably from the 1960’s. The paper is 23 ½ b7 17 ½ inches (59.5 x 44.5 cm), image 21 ½ by 15 5/8 inches (54.5 x 39.5 cm). The wormy chestnut frame is 30 by 23 inches.

Condition; good with good bleed through to the back, though there is residue of old mounting with masking tape...

Albumen photograph mounted on grey stock of a shallow pool in the foreground the ruins of some walls and columns in the middle and Vesuvius in the distance. A very well printed image with deep contrasts in tones. The image is from around 1875. 7 9/16 tall by 10 3/16 inches (19.5 x 26 cm). Card 13 by 16 inches (33 x 40.5 cm).

Condition; Generally excellent with a few surface scratches. The plate had a few losses that were colored in before printing.

A larger than usual maiolica dry jug jar painted on the front with the scene of Saint Martin dividing his cloak with a beggar. On the back is the cypher for the Carthusian order and the date 1700. Albumen of three large columns and a couple of men in front of a large forum (?) with Mount Vesuvius in the distance mounted on grey stock. Excellent tones and sharp image. 7 38 inches tall and 9 ¼ inches wide (18.5 x 23.5 cm). Sheet 18 by 22 inches (46 x 56 cm).

Condition; excellent with minor surface scuffing to the image. Card with some spots, rough edges and rounded corners, but overall clean.

A very high quality mahogany drop leaf table with turned legs and stretchers with a shaped apron at either end. The three boards, one for the top and one for each leaf are well matched single boards. Excellent proportion and a nice small size. 27 ½ tall X 28 ¾ long X 11 ½ wide in inches. With the leaves up 31 ½ inches wide.

Condition; minor repairs including the replacement of one of the feet. There is an old breakout at one of the joints. Good old finish.

A well-drawn watercolor titled in the lower right, “At the Shoguns Tomb Shiba” (Shiba park is in Tokyo). Signed in the same place Jeanie Lea Southwick. Excellent color and good perspective it was probably done by a professional artist, if only I could read the monogram. London framers label on the back of the back board. Image 24 by 18 ¾ inches.

An interesting gold filled on silver (?) locket with an engine turned cover on either side lifting to reveal a close up daguerreotype of a well-dressed woman on one side and on the other side of the locket a well-dressed man. They both look to be around forty years old and perhaps since the locket has a stem and ring it was meant to be worn like a small pocket watch by a grown child of theirs. 1 ½ inches diameter, with the stem and ring an additional 5/8 inches long.
