A hand colored lithograph of the town with the fortress in the background of Van in western Turkey. This lithograph is from 'Sketches between the Persian Gulf & Black Sea', 24 plates, Dickinson Bros., London 1852. Titled, “FORTRESS AND TOWN OF VAN.” Lower left inscribed, “R.CLIVE, DEL.” And lower right, DICKINSON AND CO LITH.” Image with border 9 5/8 inches (24.5 cm) tall by 14 ½ (37 cm) wide. With title 10 1/8 inches (26 cm) tall. Sheet 16 3/8 inches (41.5 cm) by 22 5/8 inches (56 cm).

Condition: Rough around the edges, tears and discoloration to the margin. Some foxing including minor discoloration in the sky of the image.
