An interesting gold filled on silver (?) locket with an engine turned cover on either side lifting to reveal a close up daguerreotype of a well-dressed woman on one side and on the other side of the locket a well-dressed man. They both look to be around forty years old and perhaps since the locket has a stem and ring it was meant to be worn like a small pocket watch by a grown child of theirs. 1 ½ inches diameter, with the stem and ring an additional 5/8 inches long.
Condition: a little tarnish around the edges of both dags and a couple of spots, but otherwise clean images. The case has some wear and one stain on the engine turned cover. I am not sure if the covers might be low carat gold rather than fill, but it hardly makes a difference.
An unusual double locket with good images
